Consultations

In making an appointment, you will be able to discuss any health or behavioural issues with one of our qualified Veterinarians. We can then determine if your pet may need treatment – this may include taking xrays, blood tests or providing medication. We welcome all questions, and can provide you with any information that will help you in keeping your pet healthy and happy.

Appointments are available Monday through to Saturday, with no extra charge for Saturdays.

Microchipping

A microchip implant is an identifying integrated circuit placed under the skin of your pet. The chips are about the size of a large grain of rice and are based on a passive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. These chips are most useful if your pet should become lost, but they are also now a legal requirement.

Microchipping is done every day at the clinic, you simply need to book an appointment & when you arrive we will fill in the necessary paperwork which will provide all of your important details to the microchip database, should your pet become lost & you need to be contacted.

Routine Surgery

We provide the neutering of cats, dogs and other small animals. Soft tissue and orthapoedic surgery, including cruciate and patella surgery. All routine surgeries are booked in Monday to Friday & most are day procedures so there is no need for your pet to be away from home for too long.

Pathology

– Iddex blood analyse perform routine blood tests
– urine analysis
– microscopic diagnosis on skin scrapings, smears, ear cytology, urine crystals

Radiology

Our digital X-ray machines are capable of taking high quality radiographs, which help in determining any potential internal problems with your pet. They may identify bone fractures, bleeding and masses.

Dentistry

Regular preventative care for your pets can reduce the incidence of dental plaque, calculus and caries. We can provide prescription diet food, toothpaste and brushes to increase the dental hygiene of your pet. We regularly perform tooth extractions, as well as polishing and cleaning of pet’s teeth. Neglecting your pets teeth could result in a number of serious health problems.

Hospitalisation

Our clinics provide a safe and comfortable environment for your pet to be monitored when recovering from anaesthesia & surgery or an illness. You are welcome to visit your pet in hospital to discuss treatment and progress.

Laboratory Testing

Our veterinarians perform laboratory tests on animals to evaluate their overall health and to identify potential health issues. This is either done in-house or sent out to a veterinary pathologist.

Grooming

Hydrobathing is done at the clinic most days & full grooming on Wednesdays. We also groom cats. Please call for availability.

Regular grooming with a brush or comb will help keep your pet’s hair in good condition by removing dirt, spreading natural oils throughout her coat, preventing tangles and keeping their skin clean and irritant-free. Grooming time provides a great time to check for fleas and flea dirt (those little black specks that indicate your pet is playing host to a flea family) and other health issues such as skin irritations or lumps & ear infections .
